About Small Houses Decor
Small Houses Decor is an independent editorial publication covering home decor, organization, remodels, and small-space living. We write for the homes most people actually live in — apartments, starter houses, mid-century ranches, and the under-1,500-square-foot homes that get left out of glossy shelter magazines.
What we cover
- Interior styles — Japandi, dark academia, cottagecore, grandmillennial, and the rest of the moodboard canon, translated into actual buy-this-not-that guidance.
- Home organization — fridges, pantries, command centers, entryways, mudrooms, shoes, spices. Systems that survive a busy week.
- Remodels & renovations — bathroom and shower projects, day-of-conversion programs (Jacuzzi, Bath Fitter), and the cost math behind them.
- Small-space solutions — Murphy beds, under-stairs storage, studio apartment layouts, and the architecture of tight footprints.
- Rooms — entryway, mudroom, home office, laundry — the high-traffic functional rooms families actually use.
How we write
Every article is researched from primary sources (manufacturer spec sheets, building code, BBB / Trustpilot complaint patterns, contractor pricing surveys) and structured around the decisions real readers are trying to make. We name brands, list prices, and point out the failure modes nobody else mentions.
We don't accept paid placements in articles. Some outbound links may be affiliate, which never affects what we recommend or how critically we cover a product or service.
Editorial standards
Our full sourcing, correction, and disclosure policy lives on the Editorial Standards page.
